Responsibilities:
● Perform a wide range of skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of equipment at the Class IV Water Resource Recovery Facility and its associated lift stations
● Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, plumbing, and electrical equipment
● Troubleshoot issues with pumps and computerized control systems
● Supervise and mentor Water Pollution Control Operator Trainees and Operators
● Maintain accurate records of all repairs, installations, and maintenance activities
● Follow safety and cleanliness standards in all work environments
● Respond to emergencies, including working overtime as required
Qualifications:
● Four (4) years of experience in maintenance and repair of pumps, water lines, and related equipment
● At least one (1) year of experience specifically in water or wastewater facility repair and maintenance
● A current motor vehicle operator license
● Ability to obtain a Class I, Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Certificate within 24 months of hiring
Preferred Qualifications:
● Leadership experience supervising staff
● Effective communication skills in verbal and written formats
● Familiarity with technology for reporting and record keeping
● Current State of Connecticut P-1 or P-2 license
