Responsibilities:
● Install, diagnose, inspect, repair, maintain, and service a wide variety of plumbing systems
● Repair, troubleshoot, and maintain domestic hot and cold-water systems
● Understand and repair various drainage and vent systems
● Identify different piping materials and utilize proper repair methods
● Perform soldering, brazing, threading, and pro-press
● Install and repair plumbing fixtures and appliances
● Handle the installation and repair of gas piping
● Possess basic electrical knowledge for appliances, lift stations, and water heaters
● Safely operate drain cleaning and inspection equipment (jetters, sewer cameras, etc.)
● Determine material requirements and establish costs of repairs
● Operate specialized machinery and tools for plumbing system maintenance
● Conduct backflow preventer installation, repair, and inspections
● Maintain tools and equipment safely and orderly
● Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
● Minimum 3 years of experience from an Apprentice School or Technical School, or a combination of on-the-job experience
● Valid Georgia driver’s license and must maintain insurability
Preferred Qualifications:
● Knowledge of standard plumbing practices and theory
● Backflow Certification
● Journeyman or Master Plumbing license
● Medical Gas Certification
● Confined space certification
● Experience operating heavy equipment
● Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Characteristics:
● Ability to perform skilled mechanical maintenance on plumbing systems
● Ability to interpret plans, diagrams, and blueprints
● Strong communication skills, both oral and written
● Ability to work well with others and independently
Working Conditions and Physical Efforts:
● Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights
● Comfortable in indoor and outdoor environments
● Moderate exposure to weather elements and occasional travel required
