Responsibilities:
● Perform field inspections during various stages of construction
● Read and examine plans and specifications when required
● Report violations and maintain files/records
● Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:
● Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology
● Ability to interpret codes in the field and provide code-compliant solutions
● Strong interpersonal skills for positive interaction with other staff, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and clients
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Good time management, organization, and attention to detail
● Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment

Licenses and Experience:
● Florida Standard Inspector License in Plumbing required
● FL Standard Inspector License in other trades preferred
● Florida Contractor’s License preferred
● 3–5 years of experience in municipal or private provider inspections
● High School Diploma or equivalent
● Good driving record
