Responsibilities:
● Perform technical inspections of plumbing, gas, and fire suppression systems to ensure compliance with the NYC Construction Code and guidelines
● Respond to and investigate accidents, incidents, and complaints related to plumbing systems
● Conduct assessments of gas piping systems and issue violations or summonses as necessary
● Study drawings and documents for detailed inspections
● Maintain records and prepare reports on inspections conducted
● Enforce laws and regulations related to plumbing installations
● May involve supervising and training subordinates in their duties

Qualifications:
● Minimum of two years’ full-time experience in plumbing installation, inspection, or as a plumber superintendent
● Or one year of relevant experience combined with formal training in an accredited plumbing program
● Alternatively, sixty college credits in civil or mechanical engineering, or completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program
● A valid motor vehicle driver license in the State of New York is necessary
● Candidates should pass a drug screening for appointment

Preferred Skills:
● Experience or training in designing Plumbing and Fire Sprinkler/Standpipe systems
● Working knowledge of the NYC Construction Codes
● Basic computer literacy
