Key Responsibilities:
● Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, drains, and water heaters.
● Conduct inspections of plumbing systems to identify and diagnose issues or defects.
● Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan plumbing system layouts and installations.
● Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other team members to discuss project requirements and timelines.
● Estimate materials, equipment, and labor costs for plumbing projects.
● Carry out installations and repairs of plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters.
● Cut, thread, and bend pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
● Clean up job sites and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
● Weld, solder, or join pipes using approved methods.
● Test plumbing systems for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
● Troubleshoot plumbing problems and provide effective solutions.
● Adhere to plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
● Mentor and provide guidance to junior plumbers and helpers.
● Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
● Coordinate with suppliers to procure plumbing materials and equipment.
● Other duties as assigned.
Health & Safety Roles & Responsibilities:
● Report any unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to your supervisor/manager immediately.
● Correct substandard acts or conditions within your control.
● Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed.
● Never remove or render ineffective any safety guards or devices.
● Comply with company safety procedures.
● Participate in safety initiatives, teams, or committees.
● Report all injuries or incidents as prescribed immediately.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent; plumbing apprenticeship completion preferred.
● Proven experience as a Plumber Helper or Apprentice.
● In-depth knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and best practices.
● Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
● Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and tools.
● Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
● Effective communication and leadership skills.
● Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
● Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
● Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
● Valid plumbing license/certification preferred.
● Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions:
● Involves physical labor and may require working in confined spaces or at heights.
● Work may be indoors or outdoors, depending on the project.
● Exposure to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity.
● May involve hazardous environments or materials.
● Availability to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
