Responsibilities:
● Plan, prepare, install, and maintain piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials.
● Consult blueprints, work orders, and schematics to create a working procedure based on specifications.
● Gather equipment and materials needed for the job.
● Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes.
● Attach pipes to walls using brackets or clamps and cut or bore holes as needed.
● Install various types of pipe coverings and safely discard old materials following EPA and OSHA standards.
● Inspect pipes and test for pressure and leaks; report problems as necessary.
● Coordinate with management for machinery maintenance and repairs to minimize disruption.
● Comply with safety codes and regulations and maintain detailed safety logs.
● Assist in maintaining a positive workplace and safety culture.
● Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Basic math skills.
● Proficient in using various tools such as blowtorches, saws, and welding torches.
● Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
● Strong verbal and written communication skills.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Understanding of safety principles and practices.
● Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Abilities:
● Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
● Routine climbing of ladders and stairs.
● Capacity to perform inspections and stay alert for safety.
