Responsibilities:
● Apply engineering principles to maintain and repair complex production machinery
● Create and analyze designs, run simulations, and test equipment functionality
● Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures, recommending solutions
● Monitor and troubleshoot various mechanical equipment, including conveyor systems and safety devices
● Interpret work orders and specifications for necessary maintenance or repairs
● Conduct routine inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance
● Research and assemble mechanical parts for production machinery
● Investigate and diagnose equipment failures, recommending corrective actions
● Design and install industrial mechanical equipment using computer-aided design
● Adhere to food and workplace safety policies and procedures
● Communicate with plant operations for safe and efficient machinery operation
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
● Minimum of two years of experience as a mechanical technician
● Must achieve Minimum Effectiveness Level (MEL) within three years of hire
● Extensive knowledge of mechanical designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs
● Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Basic computer skills
● Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required
Physical Demands:
● Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds
● Ability to work with electrical equipment and tools
● Capacity to climb ladders, work in high areas, and in confined spaces
