Key Responsibilities:
● Assist in vehicle maintenance and repair tasks.
● Help experienced mechanics with oil changes, tire rotations, and brake repairs.
● Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical problems.
● Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and parts are stored properly.
● Follow all safety protocols when operating machinery, tools, and vehicles.
● Conduct basic inspections under guidance, including checking fluid levels, belts, hoses, and other components.
● Perform routine checks and minor repairs under supervision.
● Attend training sessions, workshops, or classes related to automotive technology.
● Stay current on new techniques, tools, and industry trends to improve skills and efficiency.
● Assist the mechanic in explaining repairs or services to customers when necessary.
● Uphold the company’s values by offering friendly, professional communication.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
● Enrollment in or completion of an automotive technology program is a plus.
● Basic knowledge of automotive systems and components.
● Willingness to learn to use diagnostic and repair tools.
● Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability.
● Good communication and teamwork abilities.
● Positive attitude and willingness to take direction.
● Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor in varying conditions.
● Comfortable working with tools, machinery, and chemicals associated with automotive work.
● CDL preferred; Driver’s License required.
● DOT certified preferred.
