We are looking for skilled Journeyman Plumbers for our commercial projects in Phoenix, AZ. Key Responsibilities:
● Comprehensive knowledge of multiple plumbing systems applications, including Waste and Vent, Storm, Domestic Water, Compressed Air, and more.
● Expertise in various plumbing material applications such as Steel, Copper, PVC, and more.
● Perform technical responsibilities with direct supervision.
● Coordinate tasks under established procedures and contribute to team efforts with general supervision.
● Mentor and guide apprentice plumbers, fostering a positive learning environment.
● Implement lockout/tag-out procedures for safe working practices.
● Conduct testing, inspecting, and recording for all rough-in installations per building codes and project specifications.
● Maintain all tools and equipment in a serviceable condition.
● Use materials and resources efficiently to promote project success.
● Participate in the orientation of new team members on site.
● Install systems following code, specifications, and contract documents.
● Provide inputs for current “As-Built” record drawings.
● Adhere to McCarthy Safety Guidelines and Procedures.
● Minimum 4 years of plumbing experience required.
● Earn a $1.00 increase in base pay if licensed.
Qualifications:
● 5+ years of experience in commercial plumbing preferred.
● Ability to pass a pre-employment plumbing exam.
● Experience with copper, PVC, and cast-iron installations.
● Preferred experience with refrigerant piping and medical gas.
● Med Gas Certification preferred but not mandatory.
● Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings and specifications.
● Skills in accurately laying out building systems.
● Management and training abilities for apprentice tradesmen.
● Knowledge of OSHA regulations to create a safe work environment.
● Effective communication of tool and material needs to supervisors.
● Capable of setting up and performing plumbing tests.
● Ability to identify potential installation issues and report them.
● Basic understanding of IPC and UPC building codes.
● Must have personal hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites.
● Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively.
● Strong problem-solving skills.
● Pay rate commensurate with experience and knowledge.
