Responsibilities:
● Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems and equipment at the Main Hospital and satellite facilities
● Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment
● Participate in the hospital’s preventive maintenance program
● Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations
● Address patient concerns promptly, ensuring quality service

Qualifications:
● High School Diploma or equivalent required
● Preferred: Formal HVAC System Training from a Vocational or Military Technical School
● Preferred: Water Cooled Chiller Training from manufacturers like Trane, Daiken, McQuay, or Carrier
● Must hold a current HVAC Mechanic License issued by the Virginia DPOR at the Journeyman’s level if hired after June 1, 2023
● Preferred: EPA Certification (Universal Level) for refrigerant handling
● Minimum of three (3) years of commercial or industrial facility operations and maintenance (O&M) experience

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Basic HVAC skill sets and ability to read blueprints/technical documentation
● Troubleshooting and repair skills for HVAC systems and related infrastructure systems
● Basic computer keyboard skills for emails and work orders
● Familiarity with computerized building automation systems (e.g., Siemens)
● Good teamwork and collaboration skills while maintaining a safe work environment
