Responsibilities:
● Maintain and repair central plant equipment, including chillers (100 tons and larger), motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment.
● Overhaul centrifugal chillers when required.
● Familiarity with rigging techniques.
● Manage repairs from delivery to completion in the office.
● Be available for emergency service calls on a regular rotation.
● Conduct end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.
● Schedule and manage maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of chillers and cooling towers.
● Perform daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all associated equipment.
● Ensure maintenance tasks are completed within the scheduled time.
● Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
● Provide technical support for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of on-site equipment.
● Attend monthly safety meetings and adhere to safety policies.
● Collaborate directly with the Chiller Field Supervisor on customer opportunities and issues.
Qualifications:
● Minimum of 5 years of experience at the journeyman level with technical schooling.
● Required experience in commercial/industrial air conditioning.
● Knowledge of chillers, HVAC, and central plants is essential.
● Familiarity with large tonnage HVAC systems.
● Availability for emergency service calls on a regular rotation.
● EPA certification is required.
● Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
● Valid driver’s license.
