Responsibilities:
● Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, drains, and water heaters.
● Conduct inspections of plumbing systems to identify and diagnose issues or defects.
● Interpret blueprints and technical drawings for plumbing system layouts.
● Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other team members.
● Estimate materials, equipment, and labor costs for projects.
● Carry out installations and repairs of plumbing fixtures.
● Cut, thread, and bend pipes using appropriate tools.
● Clean up job sites and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
● Weld, solder, or join pipes using approved methods.
● Test systems for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
● Troubleshoot plumbing problems and provide effective solutions.
● Adhere to plumbing codes and safety standards.
● Mentor and guide junior plumbers and helpers.
● Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
● Coordinate with suppliers for plumbing materials.
Health & Safety Roles & Responsibilities:
● Report any unsafe acts or conditions to your supervisor.
● Correct substandard acts or conditions.
● Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
● Comply with safety rules and protocols.
● Participate in safety initiatives and report injuries or incidents immediately.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent; plumbing apprenticeship preferred.
● Proven experience as a Plumber Helper or Apprentice.
● In-depth knowledge of plumbing codes and best practices.
● Proficient in interpreting blueprints.
● Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
● Strong communication and leadership abilities.
● Ability to work independently and with a team.
● Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
● Valid plumbing license/certification preferred.
● Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions:
● Physical labor; may require working in confined spaces or at heights.
● Work indoors or outdoors, depending on the project.
● Exposure to various weather conditions.
● Availability for evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
