We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to fill the role of Electrical Apprentice 2 in Texas. This full-time position is a great chance to learn on the job while working alongside experienced electricians.
Responsibilities:
● Assist a journeyman electrician and follow their instructions.
● Learn to use hand and power tools for various tasks, including measuring, cutting, and bending wire and conduit.
● Perform minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
● Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies organized.
● Load, transport, unload, and provide materials and tools to electricians.
● Clean the work area and restock supplies as needed.
● Participate actively in all safety processes and programs to ensure zero injuries.
● Report accidents and near misses to your supervisor.
● Assist in planning and layout work according to applicable plans and specifications.
● Understand safety hazards and follow established safety rules to maintain a safe environment.
● Communicate effectively with co-workers and participate in training and mentoring.
Qualifications:
● 1-2 years of experience as an electrician or a basic knowledge of electrical craft.
● Ability to understand and follow directions.
● Must be at least 18 years old and have necessary tools.
● Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, etc.).
● Preferred: NCCER certifications or equivalent training programs.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
● Typical construction site with exposure to various weather conditions.
● Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
● Requires working in cramped spaces and awkward positions.
● Must be able to work shifts up to 12 hours and perform hard physical labor.
